Bring a pet through SDQ: coordinate documents, carrier space and the destination
A pet-friendly flight, an accepted vehicle and a pet-friendly room are three separate confirmations.

Short answer
Tell SDQ RIDE the animal's species, size, carrier dimensions, passengers and other luggage before requesting vehicle acceptance. Separately check airline rules, Dominican animal-entry requirements and your property's policy for that animal. The transfer booking does not replace any of those permissions or establish that a rigid crate will fit.
Confirm the animal's route with the relevant authorities
Use DIGEGA and your departure country's competent animal-health authority to check the rules for the actual animal and journey. The Dominican dog-and-cat brochure discusses health certificates and vaccination records, but current requirements and document validity need checking before departure. An old forum checklist is not a substitute.
Check cabin or hold acceptance and carrier requirements with the airline. Other species, transit countries and the eventual return can require different arrangements. Keep documents accessible at SDQ and warn dispatch that animal formalities may delay your exit from the terminal.
Reserve a vehicle for the crate as well as the people
Give the carrier's length, width and height along with pet size, every passenger and all suitcases. A vehicle may have enough seats without room for a rigid crate and the luggage. Ask for explicit acceptance of the actual load before treating the ride as settled.
Discuss carrier restraint, vehicle requirements and any applicable charge. Do not assume the animal can ride loose or occupy a passenger seat. Explain assistance-animal needs directly too, so dispatch understands the arrangement required rather than inferring it from a generic label.
Prepare the destination and any planned break
Confirm the accommodation accepts your particular animal before booking transport to it. Discuss a requested comfort stop in advance for a long journey. Keep the pet supervised and contained whenever doors are open, including during loading and stops.
Carry supplies recommended by your own veterinarian. This guide does not prescribe sedation or treatment. If the animal is unwell or the transport requirement changes, consult the appropriate professional and update dispatch before the car arrives instead of improvising the arrangement at pickup.
Frequently asked questions
Does confirming my pet's transfer also confirm entry into the country?
No. Vehicle acceptance, airline carriage, animal-entry documents and accommodation policy are separate approvals. Check each with the responsible provider or authority.
